Supersonic Business Jet Aircraft

The question: Can I charter a supersonic business jet? The answer: In 2008, not yet. However, for those business travel executives desiring a business jet that can fly at speeds of Mach 1.0 and above, help is on the way. The desire for supersonic business jet choices has been growing and should be satisfied in the near future. Among the companies at various stages of design of private business jets that can travel at or above the speed of sound are Gulfstream, Dassault, and Cessna.

Closest to taking to the friendly corporate travel skies appears to be the beautiful new aircraft from Aerion Corp. To quote their website, “In the near future, it will be possible to take off from Paris at 8 a.m. for a breakfast meeting in Manhattan.” While even the most appreciative corporate travel executive might find the cost ($80 Million) a bit pricey from an ownership perspective, if this model, or the others on the drawing board from different manufacturers, performs as expected, air charter brokers Blue Star Jets will be able to offer a supersonic business jet (SSBJ) in the future.

In addition to pure speed, projected SSBJ's will also be awash in luxury and, unlike the now retired Concorde, will be welcomed at many airports around the world, not just selected major commercial facilities. Stay tuned.
